Summary
Life Without Barriers has a commitment to lifelong learning and supporting the professional development of all their staff. This includes responsibilities of employees (referred to as attendees throughout this document), line managers and trainers. This document outlines the terms and conditions of enrolment in training programs and sessions offered by CYF.
Bookings
- All bookings must be submitted through the booking system no later than 1 week prior to course or session commencing. New bookings after this time will not be accepted, unless in exceptional circumstances.
- Waitlisted attendees will be advised of places available and given the opportunity to accept or decline the position up to the day before the training.
- Prior to booking a course, all attendees need to ensure they have line manager approval to attend.
- It is expected that attendees will book into the closest available face to face training program, unless approved by their line manager.
Cancellations and rescheduling
- All cancellations and rescheduled requests must be submitted via the booking system no later than 1 week prior to course commencing. Any changes after this time need to be approved by attendee’s manager and emailed to LearningCYF@lwb.org.au with the manager included in the communication.
Sickness
- If an attendee is unwell, they are not allowed to participate in the training. If they become unwell during the training, they must immediately advise the trainers, leave the training and advise their manager.
- Attendees must follow travel restrictions and quarantine requirements if travelling to different states/territories for training. Please see LWB Covid Response Unit, Face-to-Face Safety Guidelines for a comprehensive overview
**Non-attendance **
- Attendees need to advise LearningCYF@lwb.org.au as soon as they become aware that they cannot attend a session, training day or whole program.
- All non-attendance (without notification) will be recorded, and the individual’s manager informed.
Non-completion
- Non-completions will be managed on an individual basis.
- If an attendee arrives late, leaves early or is absent during or from any session without prior approval from Trainers, CYF reserve the right to refuse further access to that training program based on an understanding that the attendees will not gain sufficient knowledge or skills in the time remaining. Costs
- In accordance with LWB’s Learning & Development Policy Guideline, all cost of training will be the responsibility of the attending staff member’s program area. This includes materials, venue hire, catering and the use of facilitators from a different region. Where there is a combination of program areas in attendance, costings will be split accordingly.
- Non-attendance will result in costs still being attributed to the program area, unless in exceptional circumstances.
Travel
- As outlined in LWB’s Travel Policy Guideline and Travel Procedure, all intrastate and interstate travel must have appropriate delegate approval.
- All travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the attendee’s program area. Please contact the relevant finance officer for more information, including relevant costing codes.
Cancelled courses or changes to course details
- Whilst all courses are correct at the time of publication, on occasion courses are cancelled or dates/venue changed due to unforeseen circumstances. In these instances, any changes will be communicated to all attendees as soon as possible.
Pre-requisites
- Attendees must satisfy course prerequisites at their own discretion. This includes any pre-reading and assessment of own abilities for participation in practical activities.
Workplace adjustments, accessibility requirements and training support requests
- Please contact LearningCYF@lwb.org.au to confidentially discuss any workplace adjustments, accessibility requirements or general training support requests. All workplace adjustments decisions will be made in accordance with LWB’s Workplace Adjustments Procedure
- For any dietary requirements, please complete the ‘dietary requirements’ section of the booking form. For any additional requests or further discussion regarding dietary requirements, please contact LearningCYF@lwb.org.au
Conduct
- There is an expectation that attendees will fully and professionally engage with trainers, fellow attendees and course content during any course. This includes in both face to face and virtual learning environments, including always keeping cameras on (or with limited exceptions due to brief interruptions).
- LWB’s Code of Conduct expectations remain in place during learning programs and any breaches of the Code will be addressed accordingly.
