FAQ

This information will hopefully answer any questions you might have about registering for CARE and TCI training, or our workshop series.

Please email us at LearningCYF@lwb.org.au if you have any further questions.

How do I register for a course?

Have a look at the training schedule as a first step. Click on the course dates you are interested in attending and then click 'Register'. Then fill out the registration form.
Please note: You can use your personal or your LWB email address.

Can I register other staff for courses?

Yes, line managers and admin team members can register staff into training sessions. Just provide the required information for each team member. You will see that once completing the details for one person, there is an option to add another registration if you need to register multiple people. Please note: You can use personal or LWB email addresses.

Can I change my registration before a course starts?

Yes, you can manage your registration via the Portal. The portal is accessible if you create an account - a link was sent to your email when you registered. You can change to another course or cancel your registration - or any of your details - up to a week before the course starts.

If the course is less than a week away and you want to cancel or change your registration, please discuss this with your manager and then let us know by emailing LearningCYF@lwb.org.au with your manager copied in.

How can I check which courses I am registered for?

You will receive a registration email as well as reminders but you can also see your details in the Portal [https://lifewithoutbarriers.arlo.co/w/portal/] Click course details for full information about the course location and requirements.

How do I access my training materials?

Pre-reading for courses will be sent in your initial registration confirmation email so please ensure you do not delete this email. Reminder emails do not include pre-reading. Student workbooks will be made available during your course.

Will my manager receive notification of my course registrations?

No. Please ensure that you discuss training registrations with your manager to ensure your attendance at a course does not impact operational issues. Your manager will receive an email from us confirming your registration 2 weeks prior to the course starting.

What happens if I want to book into a course that is full?

If a course is full you will not be able to register for that course but will be able to join a waiting list. Alternatively, you can register for a different course.

What happens if I am on a waiting list?

If someone cancels their place in a course where you are on a waiting list, you will receive an email offering you a place in the course. You need to respond asap to this email or the offer will move to the next person on the waiting list.

What happens if a course gets cancelled?

We try very hard not to cancel courses but sometimes we need to for a range of reasons. You will be notified as soon as a course is cancelled and we will keep you up to date regarding rescheduling. You can also register for a different course if there is a suitable one near you.

What do I do if I can't attend a course on the day?

If you are unwell on the day of training please do not attend the course. If you unexpectedly cannot attend please advise your manager and email LearningCYF@lwb.org.au to advise us.

Will my course results be recorded in myLearning?

Yes, The Professional Learning team records your attendance and completion details in the myLearning system once they are received from the trainers. Please note that this process is time-consuming and may take several weeks to finalise.

What happens if I am rostered for a shift during my course?

Please discuss this matter with your manager, as full attendance on all training days is a mandatory requirement. If you are unable to attend due to this issue, notify us at LearningCYF@lwb.org.au as soon as possible, especially if it is less than one week before the scheduled training dates.

Can I attend training directly before or after a shift?

This is a decision for you and your manager but we strongly recommend that you do not come to training straight from a shift, or go straight to a shift after a full day of training.
